This course introduces to students modern industrial information systems that are used in domains of manufacturing and smart distribution networks and with database systems including language SQL. The course reflects the latest trends including broad applications of modern information technologies in the traditionally conservative industry. Traditional horizontal and vertical organization of information systems based mostly on relational databases and proprietary communication protocols is gradually being transformed into opened platforms enabling interconnection of objects and systems via Internet and opened standards. In such an environment, sensors, machines, workers, operators, schedulers, planners and systems for logistics directly communicates and utilizes distributed data resources. This simplifies and speeds up reconfiguration of manufacturing systems and provides flexibility needed to react to unexpected disturbances such as power or supply chain outages.

Cíle studia:

The aim of the course is to introduce to students industrial information systems for control and support pf industrial processes. A graduate of this course will get an overview of layers of the automation pyramid, will get familiar with database systems, phenomenon of Big Data and information systems for Smart networks.

Osnovy přednášek:

1. History of industrial information systems, classical automation pyramid, communication buses and standards
2. Database systems: Design of conceptual and logical data models, ER-diagrams
3. Principals of relational databases, referential integrity, normal forms
4. SQL, indexing in databases
5. Transactions and their properties, degrees of isolation, object-relational mapping
6. Recovery from failures, replication, high-availability, NoSQL databases
7. MES and ERP systems and their implementation
8. SOA-based information systems, Enterprise Service Bus
9. Programming of computational resources for industrial control
10. Industrial communication protocols, SCADA systems, mobile applications
11. Big Data and Cloud Computing for data storage and analysis, map-reduce, Hadoop, Hive and Pig languages, storage and processing of RDF data in Hadoop.
12. Industry 4.0: integration of industrial data resources, information systems for planning and scheduling in manufacturing
13. Distributed information systems and smart networks, security and privacy in industrial information systems
