Faculty of Electrical Engineering of the Czech Technical University in Prague (FEE CTU) was awarded Centre of Excellence by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) for Cybersecurity

The International Telecommunication Union (ITU) awarded the FEE CTU statute .Centre of Excellence. in the European region for Cybersecurity for a four-year cycle starting from January 1, 2015.

Faculty of Electrical Engineering of the Czech Technical University in Prague, which is an academia member in all three ITU sectors (radiocommunication, standardization and development), has become a member of a worldwide network of prestigious universities and scientific research institutions. Centres of Excellence focus on support of implementation and coordination of the modern telecommunications development - information and communication technologies especially in developing countries.

This act did not award only high level and quality of results of the FEE CTU within scientific and training areas, but also highlighted the four-year continual activity of Department of Telecommunication Engineering of the FEE CTU within all sectors of the ITU. The Department of Telecommunication Engineering is the coordinator within the FEE CTU.

The ITU Centre of Excellence statute has provide students and staff members of the FEE CTU with various opportunities in international cooperation by expert activities within study groups and in development programmes and ITU projects not only in Cybersecurity field, but in the whole range of the "Communication, Multimedia and Electronics" study programme. It has also become a great opportunity for further development of Cedupoint education centre.
