Our experts have warned against the potential error of some GPS receivers

The so-called rollover, or the GPS Week number overflow, will occur on the night of 6 to 7 April. Experts compare this situation to the Y2K problem of the year 2000. The US Homeland Security Office, the Cyber Security Center, and even the ICAO have already issued warnings. Scientists at the Department of Radioelectronics at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, have already turned to the first Czech subjects with questions about testing and verification of their facilities. It is they who have experience with the development of the so-called Navigation, have developed several own GPS receivers, as well as the Russian GLONASS system, European Galileo and others. These people have been active in the Czech, European and international field of satellite and radio navigation for more than 40 years. And so thanks to its equipment and experience, several receivers have been tested for this situation and the public calmed down.
