Anotation:

The subject expands knowledge obtained in precedent studies on such issues as network planning, network design, network constructions and network operation. The attention is further given to the legislation in telecommunications and to the business aspects of telecommunications.

Study targets:

Student will understand relations between technology, market and legislation, their well-balanced relations are the basis of todays successful operation of telecommunication networks. Students will acquire some skills to use in operational practice

1. Introduction. Definition of telecommunications. Development of telecommunications.
2. Liberalization of telecommunications market.
3. Telecommunications legislation - state administration of telecommunications.
4. Telecommunications legislation - regulation of telecommunications.
5. Telecommunications legislation - standardization in telecommunications.
6. Telecommunication services.
7. Telecommunications services market.
8. Telecommunication netwoks and services manangement.
9. Process framework ITIL.
10. Other selected process frameworks.
11. Fundamementals of telecommunication network planning.
12. Fundamementals of telecommunication network design.
13. Business planning of telecommunications operator.
14. Reserve lecture.

Assessment conditions: presence, successful check test and successful presentation of the semester project. The exam is written and oral. The minimum requirement is 60% correct answers to the given questions.
