Anotation:

This subject gives you the fundaments of network security and network security testing. Knowledge about the structure of TCP/IP networks, that you have from the subject A7B36PSI, is required.

Study targets:

You will meet with the fundaments of network services and practise with configuring network chosen devices and services.

Course outlines:

1. Introduction, Ethernet technology, VLAN, authentication and authorisation.
2. Security system architecture: firewall, VPN.
3. Routing protocols inside Autonomous Systems - RIP, OSPF.
4. Routing protocols between Autonomous Systems - EGP, BGP.
5. Naming services, addressing - DNS, DHCP.
6. Naming services - LDAP.
7. eMail.
8. Network devices administration and management - protocols.
9 Network devices administration and management - applications.
10. Secured client connections and security of data delivery - RADIUS, SSH, SSL, IPSec.
11. Data flows in computer networks - QoS, mechanisms for data flow management.
12. Monitoring services accessibility - SLA.
