Anotation:
B2 Common European Framework:
Can understand the main ideas of complex text on both concrete and abstract topics, including technical discussions in his/her field of specialisation. Can interact with a degree of fluency and spontaneity that makes regular interaction with native speakers quite possible without strain for either party. Can produce clear, detailed text on a wide range of subjects and explain a viewpoint on a topical issue giving the advantages and disadvantages of various options.
Grammar and Vocabulary:
word families, verb-noun collocations, complex noun phrases, countable and uncountable nouns, prefixes, it-clauses, reporting verbs, questions, modal verbs, conjunctions and sentence connectors, articles, prepositions, wh-noun clauses, relative clauses, if-clauses, passive voice, past perfect, -ing nouns
Listening:
picking up information, transferring information
Reading:
A technical text is presented. Students are required to show understanding the concept and vocabularies.
Writing:
Emphasis is put on the expression of ideas in the independent writing of paragraphs and short essays. Students should be able to present a short basic argument in written English.
Oral Skills:
Students are supposed to use the language independently and effectively in all situations giving their own opinions and defending their ideas and beliefs. A mixture of research and development, career oriented and general topics is presented.
Examination:
The examination consists of two parts:
a) | | Written test ? based on grammar and lexicology, NOT TAKEN by the students whose success rate in both the summer semester tests (Midterm and Final) is above 80%. The written test is followed by the oral part. |
b) | | Oral part ? reading a technical text with understanding (study reading techniques ? skimming and scanning, comprehension and discussion questions based on the text, translation), oral interaction, comprehending the content of the spoken message. |
Content:
Závěrečná zkouška v modulu Angličtiny, která odpovídá certifikované mezinárodní zkoušce; student získá potvrzení o dosažení úrovně B2 SERR, jež potřebuje pro výjezd na zahraniční stáž.
