Admission Procedure for Doctoral Study Programme

Entrance examinations for all PhD study programmes at FEE CTU in Prague
(except of doctoral study programme P2612 Electrical Engineering and Information Technology)
for the academic year 2023/2024, to start on February 1, 2024 or September 1, 2024, will be held on

January 2 - 12, 2024 - to start on February 1, 2024
June 10 - 21, 2024 - to start on September 1, 2024

at the departments. The deadline for submitting the Application form is

October 31, 2023 (to start on February 1, 2024)
April 30, 2024 (to start on September 1, 2024)

Application forms should be delivered to the Office for Science and Research (OVV) or to the faculty registry, submitted via Electronic Application Form (in a pilot phase for selected programmes, from October 1, 2023) or sent by mail to the address:
Czech Technical University in Prague, Faculty of Electrical Engineering,
Technická 2, CZ-160 00 Praha 6 – Dejvice.

Required attachments to the Application form:

Evidence of the fee payment for the application procedure costs; see below.
Brief curicullum vitae.
Copy of educational document and language proficiency:
- certificate and master's degree diploma; applicants from abroad will submit the certificate of validation of a foreign university degree (diploma nostrification),
- copy of school-leaving exam certificate of the Czech language or successfully passing the Czech exam at the Department of Languages if the applicant will study in Czech or
- English certificate at level C1 approved by the Department of Languages if the applicant will study in English or a statement that the applicant wishes to demonstrate language skills at the Dept. of Languages.

Before submitting the formal application, please contact your potential advisor and select a dissertation topic. In the application, it is necessary to fill in both the topic and the name of the advisor. You find the list of advisors and their topics here. Please note that you need to reach an agreement with your advisor beforehand because he/she has the right to veto your admission.

The actual tuition fee for one the academic year 2023/2024 (two semesters) is CZK 1000, according to the Status CTU in Prague, Annex 11 of January 27, 2023.
