Declaration of accessibility

The website of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering of the Czech Technical University in Prague (from now on referred to as the website) is designed with maximum emphasis on clarity, usability, and accessibility of its functionality and textual content.

The website takes great care to ensure the accessibility of its content to disabled users and complies with the accessibility principles according to the Accessibility Rules for Public Administration Websites, i.e., the requirements according to Section 4 and 5 of Act No. 99/2019 Coll., on Accessibility of Websites and Mobile Applications and on Amendments to Act No. 365/2000 Coll., on Public Administration Information Systems and on Amendments to Certain Other Acts, as amended, which implements Directive (EU) 2016/2102 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 26 October 2016 on the Accessibility of Websites and Mobile Applications.

The accessibility statement applies to the following websites:

  • fel.cvut.cz

Information structure

The website is built according to the HTML5 specification and adheres to syntactic and semantic correctness. Content and form are separated using CSS. The website is accessible even after disabling Javascript functions without losing content and navigation information. The website can thus be used on different output devices.

Compliance status

The website partially complies with EN 301 549 V2 1.2 and WCAG 2.1 due to inaccessible content and/or the exceptions listed below.

Content accessibility

Some documents are no longer available for publication on the website (from other authorities, generated by the accounting system, etc.). However, the website operator is obliged to publish them, so it does so. Similarly, some of the older photos or photo albums in the photo galleries lack alternative text descriptions. Some videos embedded directly on the site may lack captions. Bringing these deficiencies into compliance with the law and accessibility rules would be financially burdensome for the operator in this case, so under Section 7 of Act 356/2000 Coll. as amended, this is not additionally regulated.

Some of the information on this website is offered as PDF documents. In order to view such documents, it is necessary to have Adobe Reader installed, which can be downloaded free of charge from Adobe's web server. Alternatively, you can use one of the alternative browsers (Foxit Reader, PDF-XChange Viewer and many others). Most PDF documents can also be viewed directly in conventional browsers.

There may also be documents in MS Office format, or similar office applications (in .doc, .docx, .odt, .xls, .xlsx, .ods and similar formats). Such files can be viewed and edited by most commonly used text editors (MS Office, Libre Office, Open Office). In some cases, they can be displayed directly in the browser in an accessible form.

Preparation of this accessibility statement

  • The accessibility statement was drawn up on 31 October 2022

This declaration has been drawn up following an assessment carried out by a third party - the technical operator of this website (PORTA DESIGN s.r.o.).

For the preparation of the declaration, the above mentioned laws and legislative standards and the methodological instruction of the Ministry of the Interior of the Czech Republic to this law, as well as the EN 301 549 V2 1.2 standards and internationally recognized standards Web Content Accessibility Guidelines - WCAG 2.1 were used.
