Our research

We are exploring the applications of automated management and measurement systems in the testing of electric drives, in particular asynchronous motors. The work also includes the development and testing of the necessary software for the collection and processing of data in the following main areas:

Automation type test asynchronous motors: The system is implemented in the hall laboratories, ČVUT-FEL-K13114, where it is taught the subject of "Diagnostics of electrical equipment," according to "Research plan - MSM6840770015".

Automation of broadband measurement antenna diagrams: This system’s measurement antenna was used in the implementation of the monitoring antennas for READING, in cooperation with the Rohde & Schwarz Praha s. r. o. and TECHNISERV, ltd. s r. o. It was introduced to the wider technical public via a presentation at the PRAHEX 2010 conference.

Transmission and processing of measured data on PC:  A commonly accepted software program for transferring and processing data using a PC was developed.- The  program for processing data from the oscilloscopes Tentronix DSO and DPS is used by students and research teams in the department laboratories of the department; moreover, it is the program used for at least 250 industrial applications. It is a general use program for data processing of the spectral analyzer measurements for Rohde & Schwarz series FSx and EBx devices and presening this data in different types of graphs. The Program is also used in long-term investigations of the frequency spectrum. This software is part of the award-winning project ASMKS - "The Computerworld Honors Program 2007".

Purpose

The results of the development work are applied in industrial settings, where it serves in particular as a tool for measuring the research and development of electric actuators and communication devices. On the basis of the results of the practical work, we can develop the pedagogical use of the department laboratories , which are more targeted on practical needs.

Our Funding

Computer-aided measurement is funded in several ways, including the basic support of the framework of the research projects of the KINDERGARTEN, public grants to tackle specific research projects, and financial development  and in-kind donations:

  • MSM6840770015 - Research project, 2009-2011 - C5.7 methods of Measurement for industrial diagnostics.
  • Public contract to tackle a project of research and development 2007 - the National security bureau no.: 50/2007-NBU/04-VV NBU - 28/07002/13114

Kind gifts to support our teaching:

  • UZIMEX Praha, spol. s. r. o. - a system of motors MAXON and power units EPIC,
  • Moeller Elektrotechnika s. r. o. - systems industrial PLC and control relay EASY and MFD-Titan.
